Wellington Free Ambulance was established in 1927 and founded upon the principle that emergencies need not costs lives or money. Today, they are the only gratuitous emergency paramedic service in the country, operating 24/7 and servicing the Wairarapa and the greater Wellington region. That means anyone needing care in an emergency can get the help they need without worrying about the cost. The organisation responds to more than 100,000 calls and 58,000 incidents each year, making it an extremely worthy cause.
Here at Tommy’s, we pride ourselves on devoting our time and money to a wide range of organisations and community groups. We chose to support Wellington Free Ambulance because they are a local and worthwhile organisation who need our support in order to continue saving lives. Much like Wellington Free, we believe that in case of an emergency, help should be available to everyone.
In the last two years we have almost $150,000 to WFA, which helps to make up the additional 4 million dollars they require each year to continue running this high quality, uniquely free paramedic service right here in Wellington. We plan on continuing to support Wellington Free in the future.
