Each year, Tommy’s Real Estate organises an annual Golf Day charity event with Given For You. Golf Day is aimed at raising money for Wellington families who are living below the poverty line and are severely under-resourced in terms of obtaining the basic means for survival.
Given For You provides a variety of goods to these families. Their packages include swimming kits for Wellington schools to ensure every child is well equipped for swimming lessons. Included in the swim bag is a towel, goggles and chlorine-resistant togs. Additionally, they also provide personal care kits. These are personally tailored for each family in need. These kits contain new towels and facecloths for everyone in the family that receives them.
On our annual Golf Day an auction is arranged with gifts donated from various generous sponsors. In 2017, we were able to raise over $14,000 to provide unmet needs for vulnerable Wellington families and individuals. In 2018, we managed to raise $20,000! This money will supply swimming lessons, togs, towels and goggles to deciles one children across the Wellington Region!’
